Poorly validated antibodies and inadequate documentation in manuscripts play a role in the irreproducibility of scientific advancements.
In this webinar, we will provide an overview of the role antibodies play in irreproducible experiments, general antibody validation practices and review online search engines established to assist researchers in choosing antibodies that have a good chance of meeting their scientific needs.
One of the search engines is an open-access resource that uses a machine learning algorithm to screen the literature and search the peer-reviewed data by protein targets or product identifier, and are filterable by experimental contexts as cited in papers, including technique, tissue, cell line, to help users pinpoint antibodies that have been published under experimental conditions matching their study interest.
